How does benvolio describe love

If the woman rejects the man initially, he should still feel no grief. Then the man should simply start a new relationship with another woman. Benvolio's definition of love shows the audience two things about Benvolio.

He has never before experienced true love, and he has a corrupt perception on what love means. The next type of love comes from Romeo. Before he meets Juliet He thinks that love or, rather, a love not shared is pain. He hides from the his true character due to the love he feels for Rosaline, and does not act like himself. Instead he acts like a love struck boy who will never move on. I believe this perception of love is both right and wrong.

A love not shared is painful, but Romeo does not experience true love. Rosaline is just an infatuation of his heart that will not last. Benvolio is loyal to Romeo, but he is also loyal to the Montague family. Some people interpret this as Benvolio spying on Romeo on behalf of the parents of the Montague family.

Throughout the quarrel between Tybalt, Mercutio and Romeo, Benvolio continues to encourage peace. Benvolio was the one who invited Romeo to crash the party. Even if it was for good intentions, it was his doing that Romeo even met Juliet. Also, when Tybalt and Mercutio fought, Benvolio just stood aside as his best friend died. Benvolio has many characteristics. He is known as the clear-thinking, reliable, peace- loving ,caring, respectful, trustworthy and responsible young man but will fight if he is pushed to far.

Mercutio and Romeo still have similarities. First, it is their bravery and loyalty to friendship. When Tybalt is aggressive and intends to attack Romeo. Mercutio on the behalf of Romeo fights Tybalt 3. The "Ay me" is a kind of sigh in words, and it appears that Romeo is inviting Benvolio to ask him why he is so sad.

Benvolio does ask, and Romeo tells him that he is "Out of her favor, where I am in love " 1. When Romeo sees Juliet at the Capulet's party, he forgets about Rosaline, so his " love " for Rosaline was more like infatuation, puppy love. This holy shrine, the gentle fine is this: My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss. Romeo's love for Juliet is deeply passionate. When he learns that he is banished because he killed Tybalt, Romeo's depth of feeling causes him to despair.

While his love for Juliet is genuine, Romeo's emotionalism drives him to passionate acts. Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night till it be morrow. Juliet's attitude towards love is very much determined by her age and lack of experience.

It could be said that love , for her, is initiated by physical attraction and led by her emotions. She falls in love with Romeo, most likely, because she is physically attracted to him at first. Answer and Explanation: In Romeo and Juliet, Benvolio feels that love looks gentle and appealing, but in reality can be tough and painful. Hoping she might die by the same poison, Juliet kisses his lips, but to no avail. She dies upon Romeo's body.

Love is an important theme to Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet. It is a central theme of the play, and underpins much of the drama around the play's characters. Love is so powerful in Romeo and Juliet because it seems to be a force of fate, leading its protagonists apparently unswervably towards inevitable death. Later textual evidence does indicate that Paris harbors a legitimate love for Juliet , and though he arrogantly assumes Juliet will want to marry him, Paris never treats her unkindly.

Nevertheless, because she does not love him, he represents a real and frightening potentiality for Juliet. At the beginning of Act III, scene v, Romeo and Juliet are together in Juliet's bed just before dawn, having spent the night with each other and feeling reluctant to separate. The assumption would be that Juliet has never been kissed before. Romeo and Juliet are actually not in love.
