Once we got to Lampasas , we were able to follow the brown signs for Colorado Bend as we were driving along the Hwy through town. Roughly 0. Immediately after turning right, we kept left at the fork to go onto Nix Street and stay on the Route Next, we left the Route and turned left onto the County Road again, the brown signs pointed the way to Colorado Bend at this junction , and we followed this road for the next 4 miles into the Colorado Bend State Park.

Amazing place to go! Beautiful spot at the end of the trail! Rocks are a bit slippery closer to the falls, but ropes are installed for you to hold on to. We went in the middle of a mostly cloudy day, but it was still pretty hot. The trail is SO rocky throughout our dogs tore their paw pads. Medium difficulty hike. Wear proper shoes due to very rocky terrain. It gets very steep near the falls and you will have to use the handrails. Take plenty of water like you read all of the time!

The falls was a big payoff! Beautiful and serene! Terrain is rough and the steep elevation can be scary but the falls make it worth it. This trail in my opinion is hard. The terrain is very rocky; wear good shoes, bring trekking poles, plenty of water, snacks, sun screen, and a hat. We had to recharge with some food and water on the way out. Temperatures were in the 90s today so it was very hot. Even though this trail was a workout it is a great trail, and we enjoyed the challenges it had.
