Dwemer ruins are all that remain of the underground cities and strongholds of the Dwemer. They are found everywhere in Tamriel, [1] being a common sight in Morrowind [2] [3] especially Vvardenfell , Skyrim [4] [3] and Hammerfell , [5] [3] with some also present in High Rock.
Many Dwemer settlements continue to be inhabited even after the disappearance of the Dwarves. They often serve as lairs for outcasts such as bandits and vampires , while some, such as Markarth and Dagon Fel , have been renovated and function as modern settlements.
You'll get a good start at amassing a large stash of Dwemer materials if you raid the "Dwarven Storeroom" just outside of Mzulft. This dwemer ruin is located due east of Witch Mist Swamp, about three-quarters of the way to the mountains that form the eastern edge of the map and more or less directly north of Riften.
If you've already discovered the ruin, fast travel to there and turn to your right to see a freestanding building not part of the dungeon. Once you've cleared out the storeroom, Mzulft itself also contains one of the biggest hoards of Dwemer artifacts in Skyrim. The enemies might prove challenging in the early game, so make sure to craft your armor first before diving in. Last Edited: 4 Nov am.
