Nightmare spawn locations Discussion in ' Guides ' started by Upgrayedd , Jun 26, Joined: Oct 8, Messages: Likes Received: Cyclops Valley - This is the easiest one. No spawn nearby, good ledges for taming, small spawn area. Note: you can walk to this location using the teleporter to the south. Oasis - Mare tends to spawn on SE side of pond, a few ledges, some aggressive spawn.
Two Bridges - Large spawn area, few aggressive critters, many ledges. There are additional spawns in Wind Park far north end of Wind and in the Terathon Keep tough to get to and tough to tame.
Each of these spots spawns a nightmare about once per day. The spawn can occur at any time. The spawns are not linked; a spawn in one location doesn't preclude a spawn in another spot. There is no "spawn blocking"; riding a tamed mare will have no effect on the spawning. Post by Direwolf » Tue Jul 13, am Hi, where is the easiest place to tame nightmares, minimal spawn, etc??? Re: Best Place to Tame Nightmares? Post by applejack » Tue Jul 13, am You'll find that a lot of tamers are jerks who won't reveal spawn spots. This should help: viewtopic.
Post by Direwolf » Wed Jul 14, am thanks, I will try those spots and use tracking so Mares spawn randomly throughout the lands and then wander around???? Post by Horsewang » Wed Jul 14, pm I've never seen one wild. I've spent a lot of time in the Lost Lands. I do enjoy taming things, naming them "a nightmare" and releasing them. Post by MatronDeWinter » Wed Jul 14, pm People are constantly checking those coordinates I listed in that thread using tracking at all times of the day.
Think of it like "rare" hunting. Post by Horsewang » Wed Jul 14, pm So i was just running through the lost lands and saw a wild nightmare, which i tamed. Kinda funny, since i just posted how i've never seen one. I was just east of delucia on the path. It took about 25 tries at I have never kept it a secret and i have told a lot of people.
Some people believe me some don't. I know people say no that's not right but i have been here a little under 4 months and i have never seen a mare out of these 3 spots. There are two different pens. The one closest to the entrance is the one you want to search around. Sometimes they spawn near the pens and they are difficult to distinguish from the non-tamables.
If you see four mares a regular and three ethies you know that one is tamable. I have seen this once or twice, in the pens directly as well as the closest room adjacent to the pens I have also seen the tamable spawn anywhere from the mummies to the solo rotting corpse at the end of the hallway past the skeletal dragon.
If you are suspicious just try to tame each one. If you are kiting the mares, the default non-tamables will always attempt migrate back to where they spawn in the pens.
The tamable mares do not, they linger around wherever they have broken aggro. It's technically possible the tamable mare could get kited anywhere in the dungeon, honestly. Good luck with it! For reference I tamed two that were five days apart. Then didn't see any for two whole weeks plus, and during this time well I guess I lived in ankh for months. I didn't let many other people tame them after the dungeon was opened as I kept a close eye on things.
